PET bottled beverages are on sale at Seijo Ishii's "NUMI Organic Herbal Tea". There are four types of products, but this time I tried "Organic Mate Lemon Tea".


It comes in 500ml (16.91us fl oz) and the price is 150 yen (excluding tax). No sugar, no fragrances or colorings, no calories. Furthermore, it contains neither lemon juice nor skin components, and has no acidity. It contains the leaves of a tree of the Aquifoliaceae family called Yerba mate in South America and green tea.



However, when you pour it into a glass and drink it, the scent of lemon that slips through your nose becomes clear. Similar to lemongrass used in Thai food, but with a more vibrant taste.


The true identity is "Lemon Myrtle". It seems that it uses the ingredients of the rose-apple tree that grows in Australia. This gives off a refreshing scent with each bite. It contains a large amount of "citral". On the other hand, mate tea and green tea have a mellow and gentle taste and do not interfere with the enjoyment of the individuality of herbs.


Even if you add ice and cool it, the flavor of lemon myrtle does not fade, and you can enjoy the lemon-like odor more clearly because the astringency of tea is behind. It's a zero-calorie drink, but it has a clear scent, so it's a taste that makes me feel guilty that it's also suitable for cocktail splitting.
