Kyogashi place Kogetsu's "Senju Senbei"

Kyoto has various famous confectioneries including Yatsuhashi. One of them is the long-selling product "Senju Senbei" from the Kyoto confectionery "Kogetsu". Wouldn't it be exciting to have this as a souvenir?

Senju Senbei was born in 1963 (Showa 38). He ordered a German machine in search of deliciousness suitable for a new era, and it seems that it was created with materials and manufacturing methods that were not found in Japanese sweets until then.

Although it is called a rice cracker, it is a "waffle confectionery" with a unique waffle shape. The dough made from Senju Senbei flour, which is uniquely formulated, has a crispy and light texture that is just like a hard-baked waffle. Smooth sugar cream is sandwiched between them, and the mellow sweetness and the aroma of the dough spread together. Each one has a satisfying taste, but it's so delicious that you can stretch your hands with another one.

The package is a collaboration with Kyoto's traditional craft "Nishijin-ori" to commemorate the 55th anniversary of Senju Senbei. It is designed by Nishijin-ori designer Kazunori Shimamura, and has two patterns, "floral pattern" and "running water pattern". 8 pieces from 1,080 yen (tax included).

The "floral pattern" I bought this time is a combination of the wavy lines of Tatewakumon and the floral pattern, and is brilliantly colored with gold. It seems that there are cranes in the flowers. Can you find them?
