Urumqi Food and Tea's "Home Laghman"
Uighur cuisine!

I visited "Urumuchi Food and Tea", a Uighur-Turkish dish in Takadanobaba, Tokyo. The noodle dish "Laghman", which is popular in Central Asia, is elastic and chewy, and goes very well with the flavor of lamb.

The entrance is here

Located facing Waseda-dori, it can be reached from either Takadanobaba Station or Higashi-Nakano Station. There are other quirky shops around here, such as Kyrgyzstan and Uzbek cuisine, so you won't get tired of strolling around.

"Urumqi Food and Tea" Interior
Various strange instruments and characters

When you enter the store during lunch time, exotic music is played, and there are various interior decorations that you are not familiar with. When asked about the recommendations for seats, "Home Laghman" (800 yen, tax included, same below) is the best Uighur-like dish. In addition, the skewered lamb "Shishikawapu" (200 yen) is also delicious.

I'd like to try this and that, but I'm worried about the volume, so I checked in advance and found that Laghman was about 1 cup of Udon and Shishikawap was about 1 Yakitori, so I asked for both.

Urumqi Food and Tea Soup
Set Soup

First of all, the soup that comes with lagmen. A tomato base with vegetables and chicken, with a slightly salty flavor. It has a natural taste, and you can call it minestrone.

First calm down

When you're hungry, this will calm you down. Even so, the bowls on the plate are beautiful and I can't wait to see them.

Then Shishikawap. I asked for two by myself, but it may have been a little overkill. A size that is far from being a kid. However, it's nice to have two of them side by side because it looks gorgeous.

Piri and hot taste. The meat is tender

Sprinkled with capsicum, it has a tingling and hot taste. Even though the core is well cooked, it is very soft and easy to eat. It certainly goes well with charcoal fire yakitori.

How to serve "home lagmen"
Is it like school lunch?

Next is Laghman's turn. Largely cut potatoes, peppers, and mutton are lumpy on the thick udon noodles that appear in a white plate. When I was looking at it thinking that it was like school lunch, a clean bottle with condiments was brought to me. Spicy spices such as capsicum and black vinegar. You should eat while adjusting the taste to your liking.

Then, first pick up the noodles with chopsticks, but it's kind of strange. It still comes out even if it hits. Each noodle is very long. It seems better to bite off on the way. When you raise your teeth, it is chewy and very chewy. It is entwined with sauce or soup that has the taste of lamb and vegetables, and the more you chew, the more delicious it is in your mouth.

The noodles are thick and mochi mochi. Long-I

If you add spices and black vinegar, you can add more flavor to the taste. The spices are not as spicy as you might imagine from the bright red color, and the scent is not too strong. As advised by the shop staff, it seems good to add as much as you like while watching the situation.
