Pon de Ring-style "Mochi Mochi Doughnuts" recipe
Ingredients: Ingredients
are based on the recipe on JA Saga's official website.Pancake mix 165g (5.82oz)
Milk or soy milk 120ml (4.06us fl oz)
Butter 20g (0.71oz)
Kirimochi 170g (6oz) (about 3 pieces)
Molasses, soybean flour, etc. to taste As desired *for topping
Directions
Pour milk or soy milk into a heat-proof bowl. Cut kirimochi into 1 cm cubes, add to bowl, cover with plastic wrap and microwave for 4 minutes. When the rice cake becomes soft, take it out and knead well with a rice scoop.
Add melted butter to the bowl and knead further.
Add the pancake mix little by little and mix. When the mixture is no longer powdery, divide into 4 equal portions.
Divide each of the 4 equal portions of dough into 6 more equal portions and roll them into a circle about the size of a 500 yen coin. Arrange them in a circular pattern on a cookie sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 13 minutes.
When baked, place on a plate and sprinkle with your favorite toppings, such as molasses or soybean flour, to complete the dish!
How does it taste?
When you bite into it, it is soft and fluffy. When you bite into it, you will be greeted by a moist and sticky texture that sinks into your teeth. It's insanely delicious! It also goes well with the savory flavor of the fluffy soybean flour. The taste may not be as good as professional doughnuts, but it is just as good as doughnuts you can get at the store! They are so chewy that you can fill up on just one, and they are very satisfying even if they are not deep-fried.
You can make as many arrangements as you like, such as mixing cocoa or green tea into the dough, or decorating the surface with chocolate or icing, if you want to be creative. How about these for a weekend snack?
