Asakusa "Okina Soba" Curry South Ban

"Okina Soba" is about a 2-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express. Founded in 1914, it is a long-established soba restaurant with a long history.

The specialty of this restaurant is "Curry Minamiban", which is filled with roux to the very limit. The price is 650 yen (tax included) per cup. You can choose between udon and soba, so this time I chose soba. All the customers sitting at the same table ordered "Curry Minami Bansoba".

The roux, which is full of savory flavors, is rich and delicious with the flavor and umami of spices condensed into it. You can also feel the presence of soup stock behind the spices. It's simple, but it has a taste that makes you feel "sticky", and you can continue to eat it indefinitely ...!

Plenty of roux!

It seems to spill and does not spill

The slightly wide and softly boiled soba and roux go great together! The roux has a moderate thickness and is often entwined with the side. It is packed with buckwheat noodles, so it is recommended that you lift the buckwheat noodles from the bottom of the bowl. It's full of volume, and when you eat a cup, you'll be quite full!
