Taya "Sakura bowl"
Sakura meat! Soaked in yolk soy sauce

Around this time, Yoshino cherry trees bloom here and there, and the warmth of the sunlight increases. Thinking about it, I ate "Sakura-don" with "Sakura meat" at "Taya" in Roppongi, Tokyo. The meat is so tender that it melts, but it has a refreshing flavor that makes you feel a little fresh.

Taya is a teppanyaki restaurant. It is located in the basement of the building, halfway between "Azabu-Juban" station and "Roppongi 1-chome" station on the subway. It's a fashionable atmosphere, but you can order an unusual lunch. The Sakura Don, which is priced at 1,000 yen (tax included), is made by soaking cherry meat in "yolk soy sauce," which is a combination of egg yolk and soy sauce, and putting it on rice.

An unusual "Sakura bowl"

Sakura meat is, of course, horse meat. Low calorie and high protein. The red meat is brightly colored. The surface is glossy, probably because it is soaked in yolk soy sauce, and the contrast is beautiful with the white trolley, green wasabi, and perilla.

The meat is tender enough to melt, but less greasy

According to the shop staff, it's salty, but if it's not enough, I'd like you to use the soy sauce on the table. First, try eating a bite as it is. Compared to lean beef, it's very light and has no habit. It's so soft that it melts in your mouth just by chewing and rolling it with your tongue, but you can hardly feel the flavor of fat.

Is it associated with fresh red tuna without fishiness? It goes very well with trolley, wasabi, and perilla. It tastes light, but for some reason the rice goes on, so I didn't feel like adding soy sauce.

A small bowl is also included for lunch. Kinpira burdock and pickles. Burdock is crispy and chewy, and the seasoning is elegant. Pickles are not very salty, but they have a nice scent. The miso soup contained freshwater clams and seaweed, and it was relieved and delicious.

By the way, there is also omelet rice as a lunch using cherry meat, and you can see how to make it while grilling it on the iron plate of the shop.

If you want to enjoy the rice that is associated with Sakura during the cherry blossom season, it seems good to stretch your legs. The restaurant entered the beginning of lunch time at 12 o'clock, but customers came in one after another and the seats were filled up, so be careful not to sell out the menu.
