Mochi cooking items for microwave ovens
"Soft Mochi", which is sold at NITORI for 370 yen (excluding tax, the same applies below), is a rice cake cooking item for microwave ovens. It is a product that gives you a soft and fluffy mochi that is close to "freshly made".And here is the "mochi tray" that I got at Daiso for 100 yen. Similar to NITORI, it is a cooking goods for microwave ovens that can make mochi like "freshly made" with plump and chewy texture.
Which one can make a mochi that is closer to freshness? And which one is easier to use? We tried to compared!
Daiso "rice cake tray"
First of all, Daiso's rice cake tray. Place the mochi that has been dipped in water on the tray and heat it in the microwave. The standard time is 500W and 40 to 50 seconds. The mochi swelled all at once, then crushed and finished in a slightly flat state (this can be adjusted by the heating time). The holes on the tray surface and embossing make it easy to peel off the toys. Transfer it to a plate and you're done!
NITORI "Soft Mochi"
Next, NITORI's soft rice cake. A bowl-shaped container with a handle contains two sets of colanders.Put a colander on the main body, put one toy, and put water up to the water level line inside, then go to the microwave. Heat at 500W for about 1 minute.
When it's done, drain it with a colander and take it out on a plate to complete it! The shape of the mochi is almost the same, probably because it was in the water from beginning to end. It is neither swollen nor crushed.
What is close to freshly made?
The surface of Daiso's toys is slightly crispy and hard, and the inside is chewy. It grows well when you bite it. On the other hand, NITORI's toys are smooth outside and inside. It has a smooth and slippery mouthfeel, and when chewed, it feels chewy but crisp.
Both are delicious, but the one that was closer to "fresh" was NITORI! The surface of Daiso's mochi was a little hard and dry, so I felt like it was heated.
In that respect, NITORI is in a state where the mochi is boiled, so the softness and delicacy of the newborn was reproduced.
What was easier to use was ...
By the way, which one was easier to use is that NITORI will be better off! The reason for the victory is that it was made without touching the toys with bare hands, the ease of taking out the toys, and the ease of not failing as long as the heating time is maintained. Daiso can become stiff or crushed if you don't determine the right heating time. However, Daiso is overwhelmingly superior in storage capacity and ease of washing. Since it is a tray, it does not take up wasted space and it is easy to wash. I personally think that this is enough for living alone!
