In KALDI, I found the perfect sweets for the sweaty season! This is Todaya's "Shio Mochi". The price is 298 yen (tax included).
This is a bite-sized rice cake made with Okinawan salt "Nuchimasu". Nuchimasu means "salt of life" in the Okinawan dialect. It is a salt close to the sea with a salt content of 75% that contains 21 kinds of minerals.
When you take a grain of shio mochi, it has a soft and fluffy mouthfeel like habutae mochi. When you raise your teeth, you will be greeted by a plump elasticity and a chewy texture. And the gentle sweetness that the salt of Okinawa brings out ... This is the taste that the body wanted!
Mochi that makes you want to throw it in your mouth while drinking barley tea on a hot day. I want to keep it for myself and my family as a snack during the summer!
