"Hillside Pantry Daikanyama" is about a 5-minute walk from Daikanyama Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line. It opened in 1993 as a store for homemade bread and high-end imported ingredients.
There are a lot of delicious breads in the bright atmosphere. All breads are carefully crafted by craftsmen and contain no additives. The most popular is "Natural yeast croissant"! It seems to be the best-selling product since its establishment, using domestic wheat.
I bought 3 kinds of "Natural yeast croissant", "Maple bread perdu", and "Bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich". There is a table in the store where you can eat in. I decided to try it right away.
・ Natural yeast croissant
Natural yeast croissant is a popular product using domestic wheat. It has a chewy texture and the aroma of butter and wheat spreads. The price is 240 yen (excluding tax, the same applies below).
The surface of the dough is delicate, and when you bite it, it crumbles. What surprised me was the softness inside! It is fluffy, chewy and moist, and the more you chew it, the more the sweetness spreads in your mouth. The overall taste is light and easy to eat, and you can enjoy it as a croissant sandwich with ham or cheese inside.
・ Maple Bread Perdu
Maple Bread Perdu is a French toast of French bread topped with high-quality maple syrup. The price is 420 yen.
The outside is crispy and fragrant, and the dough part that has absorbed plenty of maple syrup is moist and fluffy. The sweetness and flavor of maple that stains when chewed is irresistible!
It's sweet, but it doesn't make you feel sick, so you should be able to eat one bottle. I personally highly recommend it!
・ Sandwich of bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado
Sandwich of bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado with plenty of ingredients sandwiched. Homemade bread is used for sandwiches. The price is 600 yen.
Bread that is soft to the ears is moist and chewy. A highly satisfying sandwich that combines the flavor of wheat with the fresh taste of fresh vegetables. The piece is large and the response to eating is ◎!
In addition to bread, there are various imported foods from all over the world such as Europe, America, and Asia, seasonal Kamakura vegetables, French and Italian vegetables that are shipped by air, organic vegetables (JAS) from the Southern Alps, and wine. The product is on sale. All of them are attractive and make you feel happy just looking at them ♪
"Hillside Pantry Daikanyama" is recommended when you want to have a quick meal in Daikanyama or when you want to get some rare ingredients. If you like bread, please take a look!
