July 20th is Day of the Ox. Eels are a little pricey, but convenience stores sell "eel products" that you can buy at a reasonable price. I tried together!

Two kinds of rice balls using eel and potato chips with eel flavor are now available.

"Niigata Koshihikari Onigiri Kyushu Eel" is a rice ball made by wrapping eels from Koshihikari rice, which is made from Niigata Koshihikari rice, and is savory and fragrant. Accented with the flavor of Japanese pepper. The price is 298 yen (tax included, same below).

"Inari-san Kyushu eel" is topped with chopped eel from Kyushu in the center of vinegared rice mixed with white sesame. Inari-san wrapped in thin and juicy inari skin. It is finished with a spicy Japanese pepper. Plenty of umami with bonito broth from Makurazaki and kelp broth from Rishiri. The price is 280 yen.

Onigiri using eel "Koshihikari eel from Uonuma" is now available. A combination of slightly soy sauce-flavored rice using Koshihikari from Niigata Uonuma and eel seasoned with sauce. The sauce is made with Japanese pepper. The price is 240 yen.
