Hokkaido Dosanko Plaza Yurakucho

Hokkaido Dosanko Plaza Yurakucho is located in the Kotsu Kaikan in Yurakucho, Tokyo. It is an antenna store selling many specialty products of Hokkaido.

The store is crowded with people seeking delicious foods from Hokkaido. There is also a small eat-in space where you can enjoy soft ice cream and other treats. Here are three products that we actually tried and enjoyed.

Soft serve ice cream Vanilla + Yubari melon = "Melon Mix

The popular soft serve ice cream lineup includes "Vanilla," "Yubari Melon," and "Melon Mix. This time, we chose the "Melon Mix," which offers both vanilla and melon flavors. The price is 390 yen (tax included).


The soft orange and white soft serve ice cream goes round and round. The soft ice cream made with Yubari melon juice is very fruity! The mellow sweetness spreads like when you bite into the flesh of the fruit. The sweet aroma that lingers even after the ice cream slides smoothly through your mouth makes you happy.


The melon is gently accompanied by the 99.6% dairy vanilla soft serve. The fresh flavor stands out due to its moderate sweetness. The rich yet refreshing aftertaste is the perfect balance for the melon, which leaves a sweet aftertaste.

Potato Croquettes

Croquettes are sold in a showcase near the center of the store. The popular "Potato Croquette" is made with Hokkaido baron potatoes. The price is 120 yen (tax not included).


When you bite into the appetizingly colored batter, it is so crunchy that you can hear the sound of your teeth. On the other hand, the potato inside is smooth and chewy, creating an exquisite contrast of textures. The sweetness of the potatoes and a hint of saltiness fill your mouth. Simple, yet insanely delicious!


The Cheese Flavored Knödel is a croquette with mascarpone and cheddar cheese wrapped in potato. It is a lovely size, about half the size of a potato croquette. The price is 100 yen (tax not included).


Hot cheese melts out of the batter and overflows. The deep richness and mild sourness of the cheese will entwine with your taste buds. The cheese is wrapped in a soft and chewy sweet potato. The combination of the two is a perfect match, and the miniature size is still very satisfying.
