Comparison of Fried Rice in Convenience Stores
Fried rice at a convenience store!

Fried rice is one of the foods that tastes better when eaten outside than when cooked at home (in my personal opinion). Why is it so tasty when it is just stir-fried?

In this issue, we compare the fried rice from 7-ELEVEN, Lawson, and Family Mart. We will decide which one is the best at the discretion of our editorial department!

Convenience Store "Fried Rice" Eating Comparison!

I bought a bunch of them: 7-Eleven "THE 7-ELEVEN Fried Rice" (398 yen, tax included, same below), Lawson "Fried Rice with Seared Char Siew and Eggs" (399 yen), and Family Mart "Rich and Delicious! Fried rice with chashu pork" (398 yen).

Prices are about the same for all three companies. The three main ingredients used are also the same: rice, egg, and chashu pork.

7-ELEVEN "THE 7-ELEVEN Fried Rice

7-ELEVEN's fried rice is finished by stir-frying at high temperature and in a short time. The umami of seafood is added by the secret ingredient XO sauce.

Rounded and well-defined shape

You can feel every grain of rice in your mouth. The salt and pepper are well seasoned, a classic taste of Chinese restaurant food. It is a definite deliciousness.

The chashu pork is savory, juicy, and cut into large pieces. Delicious! However, the quantity is a little small.

Tastes as good as if served in a Chinese restaurant

As an aside, I often think that 7-ELEVEN's products are truly exemplary. They never betray the feeling of "I want to eat ●● today," and provide the expected taste.

By the way, 7-ELEVEN's fried rice is also available in an onigiri version.

This one is good too.

Lawson "Fried Rice with Seared Char Siew and Egg

Lawson's Fried Rice is a simple dish of seared fried pork, egg, and scallion. The rice is light in color and has a gentle flavor. The texture is slightly chunky.

The taste was the lightest and most asari among the three companies. The taste is probably similar to the fried rice your mother makes for you at home.

FamilyMart "Rich flavor! Fried rice with chashu pork

As the name of the product suggests, FamilyMart is all about fried rice with a focus on chashu pork. Fried rice is stir-fried in a soy sauce sauce sauce made from the broth in which the chashu pork is cooked. Of course, it is topped with a generous amount of chashu pork itself.

Only one of the three companies has a square vessel.

The most unique of the three companies! The rice is dark in color and flavor, and the more you chew, the richer the oil and the savory, slightly sweet sauce taste. The sweet and spicy sauce, the umami of the meat, and the sweetness of the fat all mix together perfectly for a real treat!

Thickened chashu pork, can't get enough!

The rice is fluffy and floppy, but firm when chewed. It felt the least dry. Another high point was that the roasted eggs were large and had a mild flavor and a firm, plump texture. The topping of green onion was also nice, giving it a fluffy aroma at the end.

I've decided on you!

Of the three companies, the one that left the strongest impression on me was FamilyMart's fried rice. I thought it had a unique flavor that could not be produced at home. It made me want to repeat the experience.

Personally, I thought it was so good that everyone should try it, so if you are so inclined, give it a try sometime for lunch!
