"Fossil chocolate " is a realistic model of fossils such as trilobites and ammonites. I found it in the souvenir corner of the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno, and I was curious about it, so I bought it.


Five fossil chocolates packed in a gray marble-like box. From the left, the lineup consists of "trilobites," "plants with fern-like leaves," "ammonites," "dinosaur teeth," and "conch." It comes with a mini leaflet with explanations for each fossil, and the price is 1,944 yen (tax included).



A three-dimensional design that looks like it has been carved out of stone. Every detail is very elaborate and it looks like the real thing. That should be that, here it is said that it is reproduced in almost the actual size by raising the mold from the actual fossil. The commitment is amazing.






The chocolate itself is a simple and delicious bitter chocolate with a cacao feel. The slightly sour cocoa beans from the Ivory Coast are used to bring out the mellow aroma. It's thick and rugged, so it's hard to bite. It is recommended to combine hot coffee or tea and eat while melting in your mouth.
