"Caramel" is a sweet that is popular with children and adults alike. Compared to the gorgeous cake, it has a sober image, but I found a very fashionable caramel that overturned it.
Introducing the caramel specialty store "NUMBER SUGAR" in Omotesando, Tokyo. Various flavors of caramel are sold in the calm interior of the store. It's so popular that customers come all the time even in the morning on weekdays.
No fragrances, colorings or acidulants are used in the caramel. It is said that it is made while paying attention to the degree of heat, the timing of removing from the fire, the climate, etc.
The BOX with wonderful flowers that stands out in the store contains 8 types of caramel from No.1 to No.8. The flowers are finished with hand-pressed stamps, and each one is slightly different.
The flavors are vanilla, salt, cinnamon & tea, chocolate, raspberry, orange peel, almond, and ginger in order from No. 1. Here are three of my favorites.
No.3 Cinnamon & Tea
Introduction Cinnamon with a fluffy scent. Then the mellow flavor of black tea spreads. Combined with the richness of milk and the sweetness of sugar, it tastes like chai. The gorgeous lingering sound that remains forever is happy.
No.5 Raspberry
The sourness that pops when you put it in your mouth is impressive. The deep richness of caramel and the refreshing taste of raspberries match. It is sweet and sour and has a refreshing finish on the mouth.
No.8 Ginger
Ginger is more spicy than I imagined. As you enjoy the soft sweetness, the spicy spiciness stimulates your tongue. It's so punchy that it's still spicy even after you finish eating, and it's delicious.
I also bought some flavors that weren't in the BOX. I'm glad that you can easily buy from one.
No.9 Rum raisins
Caramel kneaded with sultana raisins soaked in rum. A mellow scent that is released the moment you eat it. The juicy taste of raisins and the mellow richness melt together. It's so delicious that it melts into your heart with caramel.
No.11 Mango
A fruity taste as if you ate the mango itself. Both mango and caramel have a clear sweetness, but they do not quarrel and bring out the goodness of each other. The "tropical feeling" in the mouth is amazing.
No.17 Caramel Candy Light Salt
A candy with a stick that is a little different from caramel. The soft sweetness and richness that gradually spreads on the tongue. A slight amount of salt tightens the taste. A sweet but crisp aftertaste.
High-quality deliciousness that you can see that all are carefully made. It may be the first time I have tasted and ate each caramel like this. You can buy one for about 100 yen, so be sure to reward yourself or give it as a souvenir.
