Kuru Kuru Takoyaki" is an educational snack from the Poppin' Cookin' series sold by Kracie. The estimated price is 160 yen (excluding tax). The set allows children to make snacks that look just like takoyaki.All you need is water, scissors, clean hands, and access to a microwave oven. Cut the tray into pieces with scissors, and you're ready to go!
Put the "octopus source" and 3 triangular cups of water in the tray♪ and mix carefully.
Once combined, press the mixture into the "octopus mold" to make 8 octopus shapes.
When the octopus is finished, stand the "mayonnaise base" on the tray â" Cut out the line 1 with scissors and drop a cup of water into the bag. After carefully mixing the bag up to the powder at the edge of the bag, fold in dotted lines 2, 3, and 4 and place outside the tray.
When the mayonnaise is ready, put the "dough base" and 2 cups of water in a tray♪ and mix well. When the dough is ready, pour it into the 8 "takoyaki molds" up to where the lines are.
The author had poured it all the way to the line, but somehow ran out of liquid for the last one... . Was there not enough water?
Place the octopus in the microwave one at a time (approx. 40 seconds at 500W, 30 seconds at 600W). If you have a turntable, set it on the edge; if not, set it in the center to warm up.
When finished warming it up, remove it from the microwave, being careful not to burn yourself. I had already noticed the smell of mayo sauce when I was making the octopus and dough, but this pastry has a very strong smell! The smell increases as it warms up, so if you have a keen sense of smell, turn on the exhaust fan or open a window while you work.
While waiting for the takoyaki to cool down, make the sauce. In a tray*, mix together the "sauce base" and a cup of water.
Flip the takoyaki over with a toothpick and top with the sauce and mayonnaise. Cut the mayonnaise off the end of the bag with scissors to make it easier to get out.
I tore off some leftover octopus and sprinkled it on top.
The flavor I'm curious about is a warm, dusty baked pastry with a strong mayo sauce flavor...sort of? It is strangely elastic.
This is an educational snack that has added a new procedure of microwaving. Next time, we plan to try Taiyaki & Dango.
