Keio Power Don" at Keio University Yuyu Kitchen

Waseda University's cafeteria was previously introduced by the En-Eat editorial department. We were on a mysterious mission to visit Keio University, and we went there to try out the cafeteria.

I visited the Hiyoshi Campus in Kanagawa Prefecture. As one exits the ticket gates of Hiyoshi Station, a beautiful tree-lined avenue of the campus spreads out before one's eyes. It is so green and open that I felt like I was in a nature park.

The breeze that blows through the air is somewhat refreshing.

As you walk past the statue of Yukichi Fukuzawa, you will see the large cafeteria building, which is showing its age. I was a bit surprised to see this building, as I had expected Keio's cafeteria to be a luxurious building like a hotel.

Feel the history

The cafeteria building is divided into the first and second floors, and the first floor houses the Co-op's "Yuyu Kitchen" and "Noodle's Yuyu. The first floor houses the Co-op's Yu-Yu Kitchen and Noodle's Yu-Yu.

Clean and spacious.

This time, we decided to try the "Keio Power Bowl," which is said to be the most popular dish at Yuyu Kitchen. The price is from 378 yen (tax included) for a small bowl.

It was being promoted.

It consists of white rice topped with a generous amount of pork, chives, and an onsen tamago (hot spring egg). The combination looks as if it will give you a lot of power. Who would not be able to resist the temptation to try this dish?

Eggs are glossy.

The sweet and spicy seasoned meat is tender and melts in the mouth. Each bite of the meat is a delight for meat lovers. The punchy taste of garlic and chives will keep you coming back for more.

I kept eating like crazy.

When the egg is broken down, the yolk overflows and is mixed with the meat and white rice. The yolk is then mixed with the meat and white rice, which is, needless to say, the best part of the dish. The richness of the egg mellows out the strong flavor. The addictive flavor of this dish will keep you coming back for more, but it is a pleasure to be able to enjoy the change in flavor.

supreme bliss

I made the mistake of eating the meat and rice at the wrong pace, but the rice with the sweet and spicy sauce and egg is also delicious. The flavor of the meat soaks into the rice, and the more you chew, the richer the flavor spreads. By the time I finished eating, my stomach and heart were completely satisfied. Incidentally, there is also a "Mega Power Bowl" with twice as many ingredients, so if you are hungry, that might be a good choice as well.

Delicious to the last bite.

Greens Marche on the second floor has six restaurants, including the pork cutlet restaurant Saboten Express and Teppan-yaki Matsuri, and has the atmosphere of a food court in a shopping mall. There were also some dishes that would please students with big appetites, such as the "Challenge Curry," a large portion of curry. It seems that students will never get bored even if they come here every day.

There's also a bakery.

As a side note, did you know that there is a British-style pub, HUB Keio Hiyoshi, in the Co-op Building on campus? It offers a wide variety of alcoholic beverages and meals. I envy the students of Keio University for being able to casually enjoy delicious drinks on campus. I stifled my desire to have a drink during the day and headed home.
